UK and European Payroll

For North American technology vendors setting up in Europe it is often the case that there are employees in more than one country. Setting up multiple entities is costly both in the sense of the actual set up costs in legal fees, the amount of tied up dead capital to satisfy minimum reserves in each country and the time drain on your finance team. A better solution is to have a UK entity, and on formation of that the application for payroll registration with the UK tax authority will take roughly 10 days to complete. With a UK payroll registration ID it is then possible to use that ID number to set up payroll in most other European countries without the need to set up more entities. The time to register varies by country but this is usually done with a month.
